BAT ZION CHILDREN'S MINISTRY
Led by Ben and Heidi Parker
“Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.” Psalm 22:6
Ben Parker grew up as a missionary child and chose to follow the L-rd at a very early age. His parents worked with the Child Evangelism Fellowship in the US and ministered throughout the country. Ben, like his missionary parents, felt a calling as a young adult and began working with a nationwide youth ministry. Since then, Ben has served in several positions serving young children and youth.
Together Ben and Heidi have 5 children ranging from ages 11-22.
Ben and Heidi’s desire is to help the children of BZ come to know the true nature of G-d and our Messiah Yeshua. They hope to instill a hunger for the things and ways of G-d into the heart of each child, so that they will choose to follow and serve G-d not only during their childhoods, but through their entire lives.
Heidi Parker also grew up as a missionary child and chose to the follow the L-rd at an early age as well. Her parents worked with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Suriname, South America where she lived for part of her life as a child. Heidi has worked with children for much of her life and has been serving as a Shabbat school teacher at Bat Zion for 3 years.
Children's Ministry Goals
The goal of Shabbat children’s ministry is to maintain the vital link between generations by conveying a rich Messianic Jewish heritage. In addition, we strive to strengthen family bonds and provide for home learning to deepen the bonds of the whole family. We utilize a Messianic Jewish curriculum designed to disciple Messianic children in their faith in G-d and to strengthen their identity in Messiah Yeshua. This is accomplished through the study of the foundations of our faith with a focus on the feasts. This is a year-long program with a summer break. Classes are available for birth through 3 years old, 4 years to end of Kindergarten, 1st grade to 6th grade (12 years old).
Children's Ministry's Vision
We want to see our children grow in their love of G-d, begin to learn Hebrew, participate in the Feasts, and develop a hunger for a Yeshua-centered life. We strive to lay the foundations for a lifetime of learning and growth in G-d. We accomplish this by developing relationships with the whole family, studying and learning the word of G-d and encouraging our children to deepen their knowledge, understanding and actions.
